Cry Baby Blues is a cocktail, a mixture of strawberry guava juice, blue curaçao and vodka. Probably a made-up, marketing brochure sort of cocktail, since all the online recipes call for Absolut vodka specifically. One of those things that make you wish Google had a NOT switch.

This side of the record is as damaged as the other, making me suspect it was once owned by a crusty old broad who got sloppy drunk on Saturday nights and listened to this one a few times before sailing it across the room. Too much to hope for, I suppose, but it is a right old pair of "he done me wrong" songs.

You have to love any song with "skiddoo" in it. Three times.

You're the baby I've been calling my own,
Oh me, oh my.
You're about the meanest baby I've known,
And here's just why

When I wanna kiss
You say no
Well, I'll tell you this:
I'm going to go.

And babies always cry when they're left alone.

You'll get those cry baby blues
You're going to cry baby
Cry baby blues just means goodbye, baby.
[...]
[...]
You won't do this and won't do that,
Now what's on your mind?

Cry baby blues just means you'll sigh, baby
[...] sweet as pie, baby
There's no bitter sweetie at our candy shop.
Now, what good is a lolly without any pop?

If I skiddoo you're going to cry, baby
Those cry baby blues.

Cry baby blues just means you'll sigh, baby
Just turn you loose and see you cry, baby

You're the bestest baby in our neighborhood
You're not so bad, but then you're not so good

If I skiddoo you're going to cry, baby
Those cry baby blues.

You get those cry baby blues,
You're going to cry-cry, baby
Cry baby blues just means goodbye, baby
Who'll be the one
To take the gun?
Blooey-blue, blooey-blue, now ain't we got fun, heh?

Cry baby blues just means you'll sigh, baby
Just turn you loose and see you cry, baby

There's no bitter sweetie at our candy shop.
Now, what good is a lolly without any pop?

If I skiddoo you're going to cry, baby
Those cry baby blues.
